BRIGID’S DAY CAMPAIGN

Melanie spearheaded Herstory’s campaign to make Brigid’s Day Ireland’s new public holiday, working with a dynamic team to lobby politicians, rallying the public and diaspora, and creating the perfect media storm.

This is the first Irish holiday named in honour of a woman: Brigid, our matron Saint and Celtic Goddess and a celebration of all mná. Discover the full campaign story.

The campaign generated 947,822,000 impressions and was featured on the BBC News, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, The Guardian and all Irish media.

Melanie joined Derry Girls star Siobhán McSweeney as she gathered a “mnásome” in a stone circle in Galway in her quest for the Real Brigid. Watch the Finding Brigid documentary on RTÉ Player
